This image was taken the very first time I went up in the helicopter to do aerial photography, and is one of my all time favourites. Despite being high up, with the wind buffering where helicopter doors have been removed, and the noise of the rotor blades overhead, there is a calming effect this photograph brings. I watch people when they see it for the first time in real life, and their face and bodily demeanour visibly relaxes, that is why I have called it "The Calm".
